DPhil MRes BSc (Hons)

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am a postdoctoral research associate in the NeuroSCOPE group led by Laurel Morris. I work on the relationship between emotions and decision making. Specifically, we are looking at how an individuals ability to experience pleasure (anhedonia), which is often a key symptom of depression, relates to their overall mental health. I also use ultra high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to investigate the neural mechanisms behind anhedonia and depression.

Prior to starting at the NDCN, I completed my PhD in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, where I was supervised by Profs. Matthew Rushworth and Miriam Klein-Flugge. For my doctoral thesis, I investigated the role of social environments in shaping our propensity to initiate social affiliation, how our social decisions are related to our mental health profile, and what neural bases might underpin social affiliation decisions.
