Translation, innovation and commercialisation
We seek to increase the impact of our research through translation of our innovations. We aim to translate our research into human health benefits such as new therapeutics, devices/diagnostics or other clinical interventions. Researchers have access to lots of support across Oxford for translation, innovation and commercialisation activities. The teams that support this work are:
Oxford University Innovation (OUI) OUI are the university’s technology transfer office. They are responsible for a whole range of innovation activities including protecting intellectual property (IP), facilitating licensing agreements and spinning out new companies. |
|
Translational Research Office (TRO) The TRO support translational activities across the Medical Sciences Division (MSD). They run the internal translational funding competition MLSTF and can support larger translational funding applications. They also offer training and have an experts in residence scheme, where researchers can meet with industry experts. |
|
Business Partnerships Office (BPO) The BPO support the establishment of strategic alliances between industry and academia. They can help connect researchers and businesses who want to work together and provide support to academics looking to translate their research. |
