creating an OxCIN User profile
Magnet safety training attendance, WIN mailing list membership and IT accounts are managed through our registration system. Please create a user profile by logging in with your Single Sign On (SSO) username and password. If you are new to the university, you will receive your SSO details from HR or the graduate students team.
Once you registered your profile, please click on ‘Update Profile’ to complete any missing details. Please select your PI’s name from the drop-down list.
Mailing lists
You can control your mailing list subscriptions through your user profile. You will automatically be subscribed to the oxcin-messages mailing list, which is used to send our weekly Monday Message with all centre-wide announcements about OxCIN Wednesday meetings and other events, IT updates, etc. For more information on optional OxCIN mailing lists, please visit the OxCIN mailing lists page.
CReating aN OxCIN IT account
I addition to your user profile, you can request an OxCIN computing account if you need to use OxCIN IT facilities. This is also done through your OxCIN registration page. Please note that some account types are charged on a monthly basis, and you will need a grant code to request an account, so please discuss this with your line manager first. Please read this short introduction to OxCIN IT to get started with setting up an OxCIN IT account and using our computing cluster and other facilities.
Creating aN OxCIN website profile
OxCIN profiles on the 'A-Z Researchers' page are automatically pulled from your departmental profile page. If you did not receive instructions about how to create a departmental profile, email webmaster@psy.ox.ac.uk if you're based at EP, reception@psych.ox.ac.uk at Psychiatry, or communications@ndcn.ox.ac.uk at NDCN.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessment
Please be aware that the use of computer equipment (Display Screen Equipment) for extended periods can result in upper limb disorders. Users are advised that frequent short breaks from their computers, for example 5-10 minutes after 50-60 minutes of activity should be planned to reduce this risk. Optional online training and assessment is available here. This site also gives details on how to arrange for eyesight tests, the cost of which, for University employees, will be met by the Department. For more information on DSE assessment, please contact your department safety officer.
