On 2 November, we welcomed a class of year 8 students from Greyfriars, a local Oxford secondary school, for a visit to our research centre. The visit was part of the six-week pilot project "Oxford Sport Leaders", developed by the University's SDG Impact Lab, which aims to "explore ways in which sport, education and career development can combine to create opportunities for young people in the city."

After a series of short talks on the neuroscience of football by our team members Heidi Johansen-Berg, Holly Bridge, Morgan Mitchell, and Louise Aukland, every student got the opportunity to both watch an MRI scanner demo and try out our Football on the Brain roadshow activities. We enjoyed meeting such enthusiastic young people, and hope to work with Greyfriars and the SDG Impact Lab again in future.
