Kirubin Pillay
DPhil MEng ACGI
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Kirubin completed his MEng degree in Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2014. His projects during this time focussed on applications of electrical engineering, digital signal processing and machine learning to the development of novel rehabilitation devices. His Masters project culminated in an eye-tracking wheelchair for upper limb amputees.
Kirubin then moved to the University of Oxford where he completed a DPhil in 2019 as part of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Healthcare Innovation. His DPhil research focussed on applying machine learning methods to track neurodevelopment in preterm babies from background EEG sleep-wake cycling patterns.
In 2019, Kirubin joined the Paediatric Neuroimaging group as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. His focus is on applying data-driven methods and predictive modelling as a means to quantify infant pain and brain maturation from EEG and vital sign measurements.
