WIN Wednesday Researcher Skills

You are warmly invited to attend an ECR Skills Session on February 25th at the LaMB. Simon Cain, owner of Westbourne Training & Consulting, is visiting us for the day to deliver a talk, followed by interactive workshops.

Simon will deliver two sessions: the first will be a talk at 12:00, as part of OxCIN United (Lecture Theatre 1, LaMB). The second will be a Communications Workshop 13:30-15:00 (Seminar 6, LaMB).

For the interactive Workshop, we invite ECRs to deliver 5-min pitches and receive feedback from Simon - an ideal opportunity to polish a talk or interview pitch! Whether you wish to deliver a talk or not, sign-up is required by February 9th at noon. Sign-up is not required for the OxCIN United talk at 12:00.

Simon’s sessions are based on the idea that presentations are used not merely to communicate information but to influence, persuade and maintain the attention of an audience. Attending will support you to design and deliver more effective presentations at meetings, events, conferences, lectures and pitches by focusing on what makes a successful talk.

If you wish to be able to…

  • design high impact presentations.
  • deliver presentations with greater confidence.
  • bring topics alive through more persuasive presentations.
  • handle the Q&A session more effectively.

then join us on February 25th and make the most of our visiting expert!
