Research aims
My DPhil project aims are to identify the nature and consequences of cognitive symptoms among patients with fibromyalgia and chronic widespread pain, to identify which areas of the brain are most affected on neuroimaging, and to test digital cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a treatment for cognitive symptoms.
Background
I completed my undergraduate medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After graduation I entered the Specialist Anaesthesiology Training scheme with the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland. Prior to beginning my DPhil, I completed a MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at the Nuffield Department of Population Health in Oxford.
My research is funded by a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Pfizer Doctoral Fellowship.
