My research interests are in the human visual system, in particular, the effects after damage at the level of the eye or the visual cortex.
My DPhil research project focuses on the effect a loss of visual input from the retina has on the visual cortex over time. I use Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and vision testing methods to answer this question in patients with eye disease. The MRI techniques I use are magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) and population receptive field (pRF) mapping.
My research aims to map how the degeneration at the eye affects the visual cortex. Ultimately, I hope these findings will help inform treatments for these retinal diseases.
