The Big Brain Competition

As part of The Brain Diaries exhibition, "The Big Brain Competition" offers entrants the chance to suggest and experiment to investigate the human brain.  The winner will get to watch their idea come to life and see the human brain in action using state-of-the-art brain scanning.  Hundreds of entries have been received, with many fantastic ideas and questions.  Many of these questions will be answered in a series of blog posts.

The second in this series tackles motor memory, and is written by DPhil student, Ainslie Johnstone.  What is muscle memory? Does it involve changes in to brain structure? What is happening in the brain when we learn something new?
