Naiara Demnitz

BSc, MSc, DPhil (Oxon)

Post-doctoral Researcher

As a member of both the Neurobiology of Ageing and the Plasticity group at FMRIB, my research combines magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and cognitive psychology to examine how modifiable lifestyle factors relate to healthy ageing in the brain.

During my doctorate studies, I investigated the effects of a 12-month physical exercise intervention (the REACT study) on the brain structure and function of older adults. Prior to commencing my DPhil, I completed a BSc in Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol and a MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL.
