Jacqueline Pumphrey

Communications and Public Engagement Manager

CIPR accredited practitioner

I am responsible for developing the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences communications and public engagement activities in order to strengthen information-sharing, both internally and externally. I help to raise awareness of the Department’s strategic aims and its achievements.

I am Editor-in-Chief of the Department's websites and I have an overview of the intranet. It is my job to produce publicity materials, manage social media, co-ordinate our public engagement activities and liaise with the University Press Office to flag up our research to the media.

With a background in academic publishing, I have over ten years' experience in communications roles at the University of Oxford.

Prizes

In 2017, along with colleagues, I was a joint runner up in the Public Engagement section of the OxTALENT Awards for my work on Brain Diaries, an exhibition and event programme at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

Medical Sciences Division

In 2016/17 I was seconded to the Medical Sciences Divisional Office for one day a week as Communications Officer in the Communications, Public Engagement and Web Team. I was responsible for the Division's Twitter account and I supported the development of an internal communications strategy.
