Girl at science fair being shown model brain by researchers.

We carry out our research because we want to have a positive impact on the world. We know that in order to have this impact, we must engage with a diverse range of people and sectors to maximise both the potential and the reach of our research.

We have a wide-ranging engagement agenda that spans across many activities and is integral to our research culture. We use engagement to shape our research plans, taking input from the public, patients, policymakers and healthcare professionals to ensure our research is addressing real unmet need. We communicate our research findings with the public and policymakers in many different ways, with the aim to shape policy with informed evidence and inspire the next generation of scientists.
