Funding awarded to develop novel MRS approaches

Charlie has been awarded an enhancement to her Sir Henry Dale Fellowship.  The award of £210,641.00 to work with Dr Uzay Emir using his recently developed advanced spectroscopic imaging methods to probe the neurochemical changes underpinning known functional changes during motor learning.

Charlie's Henry Dale Fellowship was awarded in 2014 in order to investigate the role of inhibition in human motor plasticity.  The Sir Henry Dale Fellowship is a relatively new funding scheme aimed at supporting researchers who are up to 7 years post award of their PhD at the time of application.  It brings together two of the most prestigious funding bodies (The Wellcome Trust and The Royal Society) in the UK and offers unique support for 5 years of research funding, with possible extension for another 3 years.  Approximately 25 of these fellowships are awarded across the whole of biomedical research in the UK each year.
