Installing FortiClient on macOS 12 and below

Installation

The recommended VPN client for Mac computers. Download FortiClient 7.0 VPN-Only' using the following link https://links.fortinet.com/forticlient/mac/vpnagent

Once the dmg file has downloaded, double click on it to open and then double click on the ForticlientUpdate.app held within. The download will begin and may take several minutes.

If prompted permit the FortiTray System Extension by clicking 'allow'. You may need to click the lock symbol in the top bottom left-hand corner of the System Preferences window.

If prompted, allow FortiTray to add VPN configurations.

FortiClient should now install and a FortiClient icon should be visible at the top-right of the screen.  Click the icon and 'Open FortiClient Console'.

Configuration 

Accept the licence agreement and then choose the 'Configure VPN' option.
On the next page ensure that 'SSL-VPN' is selected, enter a Connection Name of your choosing then enter

https://vpn.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fmrib

into the Remote Gateway field.

Click 'save'.
