New publication in 'Journal of Fluency Disorders'

!GREAT NEWS! the article ‘The neurological underpinnings of cluttering: Some initial findings’ by David Ward, Emily L. Connally, Christos Pliatsikas, Jess Bretherton-Furness and Kate E. Watkins has been published in The 'journal of fluency disorders'.

We use fMRI to examine reading and spontaneous speech-related brain function in adults who clutter (AWC) and controls (CON). We found evidence for abnormal function in the basal ganglia and their cortical output target, the medial prefrontal cortex. Our findings were in good agreement with theoretical predictions regarding the neural correlates of cluttering and models of cluttering that point to problems with motor control of speech. To view the full paper click here.
